HEART OF VILAS COUNTY BIKE TRAIL SYSTEM

Explore Vilas County in Northern Wisconsin. Offering riders more than 52 miles of paved trails that connect St. Germain, Sayner, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, and Mercer, you're in for a day of beautiful sights.

BOND FALLS

With a short drive to the UP of Michigan, visitors of The Northwoods love to experience the jaw-dropping sights at Bond Falls. Be sure to pack the camera and wear good shoes.

COPPER PEAK

A ski-flying hill located an hour up the road in Ironwood, Michigan, this National Historic Site offers stunning views of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Lake Superior. "After an 800-foot chair lift ride to the crest of the hill -- a 360-foot copper-bearing volcanic outcrop -- visitors take a thrilling 18-story elevator to the main observation deck. From there, the truly fearless can walk an additional 8 stories to the top starting gate." This will bring memories to last a lifetime.

Hiking Trails in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest

With seven hiking trails and four nature trails there is something for all ages in the NHAL trail system.

Wildlife

Spot a Ghost Deer. The Northwoods are known for their sightings of white deer. Check out this guide to help you spot your first Ghost Deer. It is very common to sight eagles soaring through the sky or hear the loons calling across any local lakes. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars on outings and day trips.

THE ST. GERMAIN FLEA MARKET

One of the midwest's largest flea markets—it is a must-see. Vendors come from around the midwest with a mix of crafts, art, and treasure. The St. Germain Flea Market is held every Monday through the summer and is held behind the St. Germain Fire Department.
